Method
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the cream cheese and heavy cream, then whisk until smooth. Next, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and cook until fully melted. Reduce heat and keep warm.
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium high heat, breaking it apart as it browns. Then drain excess fat, add taco seasoning, and simmer for several minutes until well combined.
- Heat olive oil in a separate skillet over medium heat. Fry each tortilla briefly on both sides until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
- Place one tortilla on a flat surface. Add seasoned beef to the center, followed by warm cheese sauce. Place a second smaller tortilla on top if desired for extra crunch, then add sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and extra cheese.
- Fold the edges of the tortilla inward to form a sealed wrap. Heat the skillet again and place the wrap seam side down. Cook until golden, then flip and cook the other side.
- Remove from heat, rest briefly, slice, and garnish with cilantro or jalapeƱos before serving.
Notes
Keep heat moderate when crisping tortillas to prevent cracking. Assemble wraps close to cooking time to maintain texture.
